Resume:

My research has been focusing on the molecular evolution, phylogeography, conservation genetic and molecular ecology on primates and other species since 2002. The major goals of our research group centre around on: 1) Evolutionary history of these primates;2) The key threats to those highly endangered nonhuman primates in China;3) Evaluation the costs and benefits of conservation of those threatened primate species; and 4) Conservation strategies for these species in China. Thus, our major ongoing projects concern behavioral ecology of the Yunnan snub-nosed monkey (Rhinopithecus bieti) and Guizhou snub-nosed monkey (R. brelichi), mating patterns and social structure of the Sichuan snub-nosed monkey (R. roxellana), conservation genetics and phylogeography of snub-nosed monkeys (R. spp), and adaptive evolution of coat color gene and ribonuclease gene among the snub-nosed monkeys and some other langurs. Other work also involves the evolution of disease resistance genes (such as MHC) in primates.
