Research Interests:

Primate Ecology Research Group investigates issues related to evolution and ecology in primates, with a special emphasis on primates endemic to China, especially the highly endangered Chinese snub-nosed monkeys (Rhinopithecus spp.) and some other langurs. My current major research interests focused on the following broad topics. 1) phylogeny and adaptive evolution: elucidating the phylogenetic relationships, and understanding genetic and behavioral adaptive evolutionary mechanism based on genomic data and some function genes in primates; 2) population structure, phylogeography and conservation: modeling the demographic history of primate populations, analysis of the ecological factors influencing the current distribution of and temporal changes, inference of likely geographical barriers and landscape factors to gene flow, dispersal and evolution; and 3) behavioral ecology: mainly concerning reproductive behaviour, cooperation and competition, habitat use.
